Reflections
Greetings and blessings to all of you. Time is speeding by. Big changes are happening in our nation. The old leadership is out the new one is in for the next four years. Look around we are living in incredible times. Isn’t it a privilege and a challenge to be living as a true Christian in such a time as we are experiencing? We have lived through terrifying moments? There was 911 in 2001when over 3000 people died. Then we had numerous hurricanes and floods when more lives were lost. Currently the California inferno is yet to end…the state has not had rain for a while. Homes and liv...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. It has been said that there are Saints and there are those that ain’t. They are called worldly people. The goal of the saints (an image bearer of God) is to live out Romans 12:2 “and do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. The goal of the worldly people is to move forward rather than upward, to live horizontally rather than vertically. They seek after outward prosperity rather than holiness. They burst with selfish desires ra...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. It is important that we begin reading the Word of God every day and living in the power of the Holy Spirit. Why? Because the Word is life; it is the living water that we need to quench our thirst in a world that is living like there is no God. In our time dispensation we would consider our autonomy (the self-life), our career, entertainment, money, and material items as our gold, silver or stone as our idols. In the O.T. people worshipped those as their idols; anything but the God of the Bible. In the book of Acts 17:22-30 Paul explained to them who the r...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. A New Year is here. You and I have made accomplishments. Maybe a promotion, a new career, maybe a proposal, retired, or you have begun to scratch off items on your bucket list. These are things that we wanted to do in order to feel a sense of achievement. Nothing wrong with that. However, when you read about Paul’s accomplishments in Phil. Chap. 3 you will find that he was esteemed above all the Jews. His Jewish credentials were impeccable. But he said in Phil. 3:7, “I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless ...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. A New Year is here. It means new opportunities. God has given us another opportunity to bear testimony on our relationship to Him to others before we pass. This could be the time when we will share the Gospel or Good News to others. We can impact or influence not just each other in the church life but we can impact communities, cities, countries, the whole world. All we have to do is share our faith. I know most of us are reluctant to integrate our faith in day- to -day conversations because we focus on how speaking with others will affect us. For example...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. Christmas will be celebrated in the US on December 25th. Are we going to shop until we drop? Are we going to decorate our homes and yard with many lights? Are we going to eat like we are never going to have food again? Or are we going to meditate on the true meaning of Christmas? Zacharias announced the birth of Jesus into a spiritually dark world as was prophesized in Gen. 3:14. In Romans 1:21 “For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks but they became futile in their speculations and their foolish hearts were darke...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. We are celebrating the Birth of Christ. I know people argue about the date and Christmas trees and Jesus skin color….but all that is smoke screens or diversions to keep us from focusing on why did Jesus come to earth. People love complicated matters because of their need to appear intellectual…but it is very simple. God has provided a remedy so that men do not need to suffer everlasting punishment for their sins. He sent His Son Jesus Christ, the second person of the Trinity, into the world to provide a way to escape for you and I. Luke 19:1...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. We are entering into a New Year. How are we doing in our Christian Walk? Are we growing and maturing? Or are we stagnating? Growing in Christ is not an easy task especially since we are made up of part flesh and Spirit…to those who are truly save. In the Book of Galatians 5:12 it reads, “For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other so that you do not do what you want.” That is why we have this constant tug of war within that keeps ...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. When you look around at the Christian community today, you frequently see chaos. Marriages are falling apart; single men and women are struggling to be content. Debt rules. Addictions prevail. Some are faithfully still going to church. But since the Covid outbreak in 2019 the gathering of person to person has lessen. It is no wonder the average Christian feels like they are living a ho hum defeated Christian life. They conclude by saying, ‘this Christianity is not working.’ Since its inception, the Church has been known for its care for the po...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. This is the week that we focus on how grateful we should be as the Body of Christ. We have so much to be thankful for. Just think ..the Christian church exists for the purpose of making disciples and expanding the kingdom! Hallelujah! And you and I are part of that. We have the opportunity to spread the Gospel… to spread the Truth in a world full of deception. Something is seriously wrong if the church is losing disciples and are not being the hands and legs of Christ to build His kingdom. Jesus told us, “Go into all the world and preach the ...
