Reflections
Greetings and blessings to all of you. The Bible says we are children of God. In I John 3:1-2 “see what kind of love the Father has given to us that we should be called children of God…” Understanding our identity as children of God will directly manifest itself in our love for God and other Christians. We are called to love one another even our enemies. Also, as children of God we are now heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ. This means that we have a new identity and a new destiny. That is good news in light of our culture that is celebrating “another identity&rd...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world- the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and the pride of life -is not from the Father but is of the world.”(I John 2:15-17) The call of the Christian life as you just read is fundamentally different than the attitude and lifestyle of the world. As we turn away from the enticing pull of self-righteousness and self-centeredness in the “city of man” we can turn outward, lifting ...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. This is Memorial Day weekend in the United States. It has been said that this is “home of the free because of the brave”. We must never forget what has happened in the past because we will not recognize when things are about to happen again. This country as well has others have always had enemies. A lot of people are celebrating by doing outdoors activities not considering the bigger picture of what this day means. Christians live in reality. Since the fall of Adam and Eve one thing marked humanity..war and sin. This day calls us to remember t...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. Today is Mother’s Day. Hallelujah! Our Sovereign God gave us this day to focus on Mothers. When I think of Mothers, I think of two characteristics of Mothers that will honor and glorify the Lord who created all of us. A Mother conceives. This wicked culture is now wanting us to believe a man can conceive. Plus, they are currently in the laboratories trying to create an artificial womb. Again, the goal is to wipe out the idea that there is a God who made and controls the universe. Also, if and when the mom conceives {the culture} devalues babies by a...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. God loves us unconditionally. I believe He even loved Judas who He knew was going to betray him. God is Love. Love is not just a feeling. Love is an action. Therein lies the difficulty. We are not able to Love as Christ unless we deny ourselves or die to our flesh. A true Christian know about denying himself. Denying yourself is simply denying {the rights of comfort and attention} that you would normally reserve for yourself. The mature believer understands this and accepts this. Unlike the unbeliever who is deceived; not denying themselves nothing. Doing...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. God has always been working with 3 types of people. In Isaiah 45:22 He said, “Turn to me and be saved all the ends of the earth for I am God and there is no other.” He is working with the unbeliever (the natural man); He is working with the one who believes but still want to hold on to the world (the carnal man); Jesus in one hand and the world in the other; and finally, He is working with the (mature believer) one who desires to get fed with the Word, Repent; live the Word out in his day to day- without compromising. God throughout the Script...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. Did you know there are three individuals that God has to work with before He returns to claim His Kingdom. They are… the person without Christ (the natural man), the immature believer (carnal man), and the mature believer. The Bible teaches that the differences among these types are a result of their relationship not only with the Godhead but the Holy Spirit. The natural man will not accept God’s revelation in the Bible as true, because he lacks the capacity to verify its truthfulness. He depends on his senses and reason to determine what he ...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. Resurrection Sunday is a day that gave us “Zoe”. That means Life in the Spirit which lives in us on a daily. The day is gone but “our new Life” lives in us. Why? Because if we are truly regenerated(saved) and are transforming into the image of God we can say without a doubt “therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation old thing have passed behold all things have become new.” (2 Cor. 5:17) We as followers of Christ do not want Jesus to say to us what He said to the two men on that road to Emmaus when they did ...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. For most of us we have to possibly experience bad news before we can appreciate the good news. Today is Resurrection Sunday; a day to remember that Jesus came to fulfill the prophecy in Isaiah 61:1-3 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the broken hearted; to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to those who are bound to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor…..”Some at this point may say to themselves…this...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. Today is Psalm Sunday; a day to reflect on why Jesus was riding on a donkey into Jerusalem. If Jesus was King of Jews …it certainly did not look like it. Kings do not ride on a foal that is not decorated to the fullest. Jesus was not even dressed as a King. And even some of peasants were worshiping and praising Him saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord. Peace in Heaven and Glory in the Highest!” as the foal continued on the journey. But indeed, He was and is King Jesus. Jesus had a mission. To come and save the ...
