Reflections
Greetings and blessings to all of you. Happy Resurrection Sunday! Holy week has been full of activities commemorating the days between Psalm Sunday, Good Friday and finally Resurrection Sunday or Easter. That day for Christ has been marked with joy and sadness. He rose from the grave but not before he died a cruel painful death for all of us. The Bible describes the human condition as “dead in your transgressions and sins” (Eph. 2:1), objects of God’s wrath, (Eph. 2:3) alienated from God and enemies of God in your minds (Col.1:21). The Gospel reveals that Jesus is the only wa...

Passover begins this year from April 12th to the 20th; celebrating the Israelites liberation from slavery in Egypt, as described in the Book of Exodus. Passover or “pesakh” in Hebrew is the night when God’s protective love held back death. And after this first time, Moses instructed the Israelites to observe this meal as an annual feast. It has been celebrated every year since. Should Christian find the Passover relevant to them? Yes and Yes again. Let me explain. Christ is the God-Man meaning even though Christ became fully human, He al...

If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him.” The “world” refers to Satan’s evil influence in this age which include three enticements: the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride in one’s lifestyle. Because professing Christians have not done a good job of guarding against these things; the god of secularism and uninhibited sexual idolatry appears to have won. And because of this it appears that the God of t...

When you hear a word from my mouth give them a warning from Me. If I say to the wicked, ‘wicked one you will surely die’, but you do not speak out to warn him about his way, that wicked person will die for his iniquity, yet I will hold you responsible for his blood. But if you warn a wicked person to turn from his way and he does not turn from it, he will die for his iniquity but you will have saved your life.” Some of...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. In Deut. 29:2-4 the Word said, “Moses summoned all the Israelites and said to them, ‘You have seen with your own eyes everything the Lord did in the land of Egypt to Pharoah and to all his servants and to his whole country all the great tests of strength, the miraculous signs, and the amazing wonders. But to this day “the Lord has not given you minds that understand, nor eyes that see, nor ears that hear.” That is a very sad statement indeed. Despite all they had experienced Israel was still spiritually blind to the significance of...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. When we see or hear evil, whether it be on TV, in the movies, in a book, in our friend’s dirty jokes or when we go to a social event like football or ice hockey, how do we respond? Do we turn away and ignore it? Do we compromise/rationalize and learn to live with it? When we see a dirty scene on TV does it make us feel dirty inside? How do we respond to evil? Have we been conditioned to what God sees as evil such as operating on little kids to change their gender or killing babies in the womb and/or until later. And let us not forget about the sin o...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. The church is a meeting place where the people of God learn about the God they serve; how to honor God in their lives and loving one another. In Exodus 34:12-17 When Moses got instructions from God for the Israelites who were in the wilderness the Word said, “Be careful never to make a treaty with the people who live in the land where you are going. If you do, you will follow their evil ways and be trapped. Instead, you must break down their pagan alters, smash the sacred pillars and cut down their Asherah poles. You must worship no other gods for t...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. Have you ever heard the statement “I love Jesus but not His church.” Understandably that you should have this attitude also. The church began in the first century with the power of the Holy Spirit when He entered in the believers meeting place. In Acts 2:3-4 “Then what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability. The church was God’s idea; if it was man’s idea, we...

Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.” What an imagery! But in that- we find comfort…Amen. We must never forget that in this world of sin sadness and suffering not everything will work out the way that we want. That is why in hard times and good times, we should have a Scripture or two that we can ...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. Have you noticed how certain things do not change over time? For example, our Christian values are still being attacked. Nothing new under the sun. Satan has always come against everything that God loves. He came to rob, kill and destroy. When you recall what happened in Elijah days; he experienced a major victory against those that came against the Almighty in (I Kings18). Armed with only his unflinching faith in the Lord he faced down 850 priests of the local false deities. God moved and destroyed the idolaters bringing glory to Himself throughout Israe...
