Reflections
Greetings and blessings to all of you. We will be celebrating Memorial Day tomorrow. It is a holiday for honoring and mourning the military personnel who have died in the performance of their military duties while serving in the United States Armed Forces to protect our nation from our enemies. While we are enjoying the day let us focus on America and how God has allowed much mercy and grace to us. We use to sing (with deep feelings) “America, The Beautiful”. One line in the song says, “God shed His Grace on thee…and crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to sh...

The world constantly celebrates freedom as the superior option of “doing as I please.” God’s Word teaches us that though we are free, we should not exercise this freedom by making choices that go against His Word. In Deuteronomy 28, God lays out a long list of blessings for following Him and curses for turning away from Him. In Deut. 30:15-18 Moses exhorts the people to use their free will to choose life and blessings. “See, I set before you today life and prosperity death and destruction. For I command you today to love the ...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. Heaven and Hell are real places. The Bible (which is the Word of God) has stated in Matt. 25:41 “then He will also say to those on the left hand depart from Me you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.” There are many ideas about what happens when we die. Some say we are all annihilated, some say that we will all go to heaven. Others believe in a place where sinful souls are prepared for heaven. But nothing in the Word of God (the Bible) supports any of these ideas. Instead, it says in Heb.9:27 “a...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. It has been said that only the Gospel can bridge the great divide…between Evolutionist and Creationist. Our culture is increasingly skeptical of the transcendent, objective truth claim that the Jesus is the only Way and The Word of God is true. They do not believe in the account of the Creation. In Gen. 2:4,7,21-22 the Word says, “this is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created…the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living b...

In 1 Tim. 6:3-4 the Word of God says, “If anyone teaches different things and does not consent to healthy words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the teaching which is according to godliness, he is blinded with pride, understanding nothing, but is diseased with questionings and contentions of words, out of which come envy, strife, slanders and evil suspicions.” What are “healthy words?” The words of our Lord Jesus Christ are words of life. The healthy words of the Lord are the source of the teaching that is according...

If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them? And as for us why do we endanger ourselves every hour? I die every day- I meant that brothers- just as surely as I glory over you in Christ Jesus our Lord. If I fought wild beast in Ephesus for merely human reasons, what have I gained? If the dead are not raised ‘Let us eat and drink for tomorrow, we die.’ Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good ch...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the central pillar of Christianity and the evidence for its historicity is conclusive. We know this. How? Well, Jesus appeared so many times that there wasn’t a shadow of a doubt among His followers that Jesus was a resurrected breathing, very alive Messiah. They had seen Him, spoken to Him, touched Him and even eaten with Him. The resurrection was no secret it was very public. We also have the empty tomb (despite the Roman guards and strict precautions), and the transformation of the apostles. Why do ...
(Read More)Greetings and blessings to all of you. The Scriptures says, “But now Christ has been raised from the dead the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. (I Cor. 15:20) In this chapter Paul the apostle had to deal with a heretical saying ‘there is no resurrection of the dead.’ This heresy is the most damaging and destructive to God’s kingdom. The Resurrection is the life pulse and lifeline of the Body of Christ. If there were no resurrection, God would be the God of the dead not of the living. If there were no resurrection Christ would not have been raised from the de...

In Luke 24:5-8 it says, “In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?” He is not here; He Has Risen! Remember how he told you while he was still with you in Galilee. The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.” Then they remembered his words.”Today we are celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The resurrection is the foundational belief of our Chris...

In Psalm 18:32 it says, “it is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.” I get my confidence from knowing Christ is in me ..the hope of Glory. It is Christ that lives in me that gives me the courage and boldness that is needed as the church age comes to an end. The Biblical Instructions Before Leaving Earth is crucial to read, study then apply. It will answer all your deepest questions. Why am I here? Where am I going when I die? Death is so scary for me..can I find comfort in the Bible? Why do I and others have to su...
