Greetings and blessings to you all. Jesus said He will return and I believe Him. Do you? In Acts 1:11 it states, “Men of Galilee why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus who was taken up from you into heaven will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” Or are you a scoffer? In 2nd Peter 3:3 it states, “in the last days scoffers will come with their mocking following their own sinful desires.” We live in a hurry up and return mindset together with wait, wait, and wait mindset. This means we live as if Christ is coming today and also that we patiently wait on the Lord’s timing because he can come now or much later on. Both are important. The question is…Are you ready to be with Christ when He returns? Or are you going to be like the “parable of the Ten Virgins” They failed to bring extra oil for their lamps to last through an unexpected delay in Jesus’ return. The lesson is a warning to maintain active watchfulness and sincere internal spiritual preparation for Christ’ return rather than relying on a superficial or last-minute appearance of faith. According to the Scriptures there are only two kinds of people in this world. There are people who glory in the cross and those who do not. There are those who belong to the world and glory that indeed they are part of the culture and liked by most. Then there are those who glory in the fact that they are no longer of the world. Though they are still in it; they glory that they are only pilgrims and strangers passing thru this world of time. Jesus is taking a long time because He said in 2 Peter 3:9 “the Lord is patient with you not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance.” His delay forms an opportunity to show which people are ready and who is not. Just like during the Covid…it was indeed used to note who are faithful and who will be loyal to “the House of God” or who had their own agenda …. forgetting that God KNOWS our hearts. Are you the nominal Christian and just profess His Name or are you the Christian that truly believe in Him? Are you truly trusting Him? Are you living in such a way you are longing for His return and preparing for His return? What does that look like for you? Is it showing you that you are getting ready and staying ready for his return? This parable will help you with examine your heart. The Gospel is the power of God and He will be our Judge. Be ready.
