Greetings and blessings to you all. Jesus has called us to join Him in the works that He is now doing. Jesus had a mission we have a mission: to proclaim good news to the poor; to proclaim liberty to the captives; bring recovery of sight to the blind; to liberate those who are oppressed and to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor. We seem to be talking a lot about passion- it is that fire that rises in our bones and then we engage in the challenge wholeheartedly. In Jer. 20:9 it says, “But if I say, I will not mention His word or speak anymore in His name; His word is in my heart like a fire -a fire shut up in my bones; I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot”. When Jesus was with the twelve disciples, He gave them what He has given us today…His power and His authority. We could say He anointed them to be His representatives and to carry out His mission. I realize that most of us do not feel as if they have this power and authority. Jeremiah felt assaulted and bullied by God who placed in his heart to be a prophet of doom and that people would think he was crazy however, it was not about how he felt neither is it about how you and I feel. It is about being obedient, it is about trusting, and dying to yourself. God wants to use us. He said in Romans 6:13 (paraphrase), “present your members as instruments of righteousness to God.” Jesus said in John 17:18 “as you sent me into the world, I have sent them (us) into the world.” Children of God we are His hands and feet with the intent {in this world} to fulfill His mission. When Christ left, He told His disciples (us) to pray saying “your kingdom come your will be done on earth… as it is in heaven.” Are we excited? Do we have that passion needed for the assignment He has given you and I? God needs us to share the good news with everyone we meet. God will do the rest. All of us are called to be an evangelist. In John 17:14 “I have given them your word and the world has hated them for they are not of this world any more than I am of the world.” I know there is always a temptation to give up. We get tired especially when we do not see results. But God said, “Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest.” Besides being tired complacency is a problem. Acute desire must be present or there will be no manifestation of Christ. Dear Saints stir up the fire in you on behalf of Christ.
