Greetings and blessings to you all. In Eph 4:14 the Word says, “So that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine by human cunning by craftiness in deceitful schemes.” These verses are not telling us about growing in our spiritual life; they are referring to the transitioning saints who, until the body was matured, were to be growing towards that maturity. Are we going to stay as babes in Christ or do we desire to mature in our faith? We cannot grow in spiritual maturity when we as part of the body of Christ refuse to read the Word and allow the Word to be our very life. We are obligated to be grounded in His Word. Why? Because as it is noted in the scripture... powerful winds seem to be blowing in the churches these days bringing in spiritual teachings that are not of Christ. And they are coming from pastors-teachers that appear to just want a flock of baby sheep to follow them. Maybe for status, prestige, money, a title, ego boosting and or they themselves are not discerning. It says in Romans 16:18 “for such person do not serve our Lord Christ but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naïve.” There is no compromising with false teachers. Someone who perverts God’s message- they are not working for God they are working on behalf of our enemy; and therefore, that is all the more reason for the growing Christian “to test everything; hold fast what is good” (I Thess. 5:21) You cannot trust your instincts when protecting God’s church. Your heart and your flesh would be deceived if left on your own…just like Eve. Satan and his workers greatest weapon are deception. The sword, the Word of God is your weapon to defeat these attacks. So, if we feed our Spirit, we will be able to recognize false teachers/leaders/influencers. Most will be successful. Many will follow them. A large and prosperous church is not a sign things are well in it. Material success as a church actually just makes it easier to conceal the lies. A false teacher wants to own and possess the flock for themselves rather than “shepherd” you for God. They are obsessed with SELF. Pastor worship… rather than- God worship and His word ..and control are signs that you are dealing with a wolf. (2 Peter 2) Saints please Be Aware!
