Greetings and blessings to all of you. Do you realize that we are living in an age of confusion? Being complacent is not the proper response. Do you notice the fake news, and the AI generated photos, news captions, and the shifting definitions of marriage and gender? You recall a time when we relied on these as reliable sources of information and guidance. Because God has allowed our nation to be in a cultural chaos it is essential for us to examine every claim carefully (discernment). Our greatest threat to our faith comes from the godless culture however, we must be aware of the teachings from leadership that are false or full of errors or dumb-down. It is so easy to listen to them because you may want to appear tolerant and open minded and submissive. But our faith does not contain partial truth(lies). It is objective Truth. Today it appears that wealth, power, and success define blessings. The world celebrates those who possess influence and prosperity but the church is called to be different. The church once pointed {to the power} to awaken conscience, to raise people’s awareness…. to cause conviction of wrongdoing, and to lead people to repentance and transformation in Christ. Yet this influence has significantly weakened. The root of the problem lies in apathy/tolerance. In the world, those who administer the law often violate it themselves. In the church the failure is seen in the reluctance of pastors and leaders to speak with courage. When sin is no longer identified as sin, and evil is not condemned as evil, the very gospel is undermined. Without a recognition of sin’s seriousness, people do not understand the suffering and sacrifice of Christ. Through subtle manipulation of language, wrongdoing is excused, evil is redefined as good, and injustice is presented as justice. In such a climate true judgment according to righteousness becomes rare. Consequently, the credibility of the church has suffered greatly. What was once respected is now often ridiculed. The church, which should stand as a witness to unchanging truth, sometimes appears willing to adjust that truth according to cultural trends. When this happens, it loses both its credibility and its influence. It is difficult for the world to respect a church that does not remain faithful to its own message. We must speak rationally, confidently and boldly with a heart full of love. True victory does not belong to those who dominate in the present age, but to those who remain faithful to truth.
