Greetings and blessings to all of you. The people of God are those who have accepted that they are sinners;in need of a Savior and have received the Holy Spirit. God loves His church...He wants His people to honor and glorify Him not only when we are gathered together in the building; but in the marketplace. For example, in Acts 17:6 Paul and Silas and Jason were said of them “those who have turned the world upside down have come here too. Jason has harbored them and these are all acting contrary to the decrees of Caesar saying there is another king----Jesus.” You could say that these men in today’s ideology would be called political activist. These men understood that God was their Lord and Savior not Caesar. A little background. In First Sam 8:4 Israel demanded a King. The people said, “now make us a King to judge like all the other nations.” God responded to this immediately. God said to the Prophet Samuel in vs. 7 “Heed the voice of the people …they have not rejected you but they have rejected Me that I should not reign over them.” Fast forward to our culture today.How could we not know we are a Christian nation? The public broadcast system declares “one nation under God”, our money {for now} says, “In God we Trust.” In court we say “Nothing but the truth so help me God.” But like those in the O.T.; we have the people of God plus the pagans wanting to become a godless Christian nation. God heart is grieved. God wants His people submitted to Him. In James 4:4 it says, “You adulterous people don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.” My friends speaking Biblical truth naturally makes others uncomfortable and can be upsetting when it challenges beliefs and behaviors that are out of alignment with God, however being nice and not making waves is not biblical when it comes to defending the faith. Comfort, safety and approval should not be the Christian’s goal in the marketplace. We are living in a time of moral inversion…where right is wrong and wrong is right. Recall the Beatitudes in Matt.5:10- 11 “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’s sake for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven and Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.”
