Greetings and blessings to all of you. In Psalm 122:6-9 it is written “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels…”. In Psalm 124, excerpts from that says, “If the Lord had not been on my side when men attacked us; when their anger flared against us, they would have swallowed us alive…Praise be to the Lord who has not let us be torn by their teeth. We have escaped like a bird… Our help is in the name of the Lord the Maker of heaven and earth.” An attack from Hamas/Iran occurred on many Israelis living in Gaza on Oct.7,2023. Since then, Israel have been seeking and demanding answers and help from their government and military leaders. But very little changed until recently when our president okayed ‘Operation Epic Fury’ against Iran and its assets including its nuclear and missile capabilities along with its navy and leadership. This is an historic- prophetic event on God’s calendar. Christ said in Matt.24:6 “you will hear of wars and rumors of wars but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come”. Our world is rapidly changing -the only thing that can’t and won’t change is the Word of God. So, trying to avoid or dismiss what has been foretold in Scriptures (read Ezekiel 38-39 and Rev. 16) about that which is coming is rather pathetic and shows the ‘spirit of denial’ that has flourished in our churches and in our communities. Our spiritual condition correlates with our biblical thinking or having the mind of Christ. Stats from Barna research reported “World Citizens (or worldly thinking people) now dominate the culture: 85% of adults hold a worldview generally inconsistent with biblical teaching.” Times like this is not a time to hold up our hands in defeat/depression or become angry/bitter or apathetic but it is the time to read encouraging Scriptures like Psalms 34:18 “the Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” It is time to Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Let us pray for the people that are living underground; hearing the bombing above. Pray for the families of the military that have lost loved ones in this operation. Pray for the victims in Iran. Did you know that half of all Jews worldwide live in Israel today? The Israelites are God’s chosen people. We have been given the great privilege and responsibility to pray/share the Gospel when the opportunity comes.
