Greetings and blessings to all of you. Did you know that the state of Colorado is going after a Christian counselor named Kaley Chiles? Why? For doing what every Bible believing counselor should; offering truth, grounded in Scripture to young people struggling with gender confusion. Colorado has labeled her counsel “conversion therapy” denying her any religious exemptions and is now trying to silence her. How does this bit of news apply to Christians around the world? One of the distinguishing marks of our age is the rise of cancel culture. Because of this ongoing trend many people are afraid to speak the Truth. Why? Maybe we have a fear of rejection of our friends or family members.... or maybe we want to appear like the masses and not stand alone. A possible termination from our employment may be a possibility. Some may have connections in the business arena and public discourse which may be lost -due to taking a stand [against] certain ideologies that the majority of the people are[for] like same sex marriages. Cancel culture has one objective and that is to suppress objective Truth and keep people in line with the prevailing cultural opinions. Francis Schaeffer a theologian who contended for the faith said, “Truth demands confrontation, but loving confrontation; but confrontation nevertheless.” He went on to say, “If we do not have the courage, we will cut the ground out from under the feet of our children for there are hard days ahead of us and without a strong view of Scripture as a foundation to undergird what we say to others concerning Biblical principles in this right is wrong and wrong is right world- we will not be ready for the hard days to come.” Today postmodern thinkers present a new gospel that claims there is no single answer to any question and no single truth about the world. They peddle violence and division; pretending to be compassionate and caring; believing every action is okay; that each man must find the truth that is right for him and that man is essentially good. When he slips, they blame society and begin changing God given laws to suit their rebellious heart. Opening your mouth for Christ is costly. You will be hated, despised, and possibly canceled. But at the end of the day ask yourself this question, “Am I living for Jesus’s approval alone?” Or do I care so much of what people think about me that I allow the foolishness of the world to take over and hurt future generations?”
