Greetings and blessings to all of you. The Church of Christ has been in existence since after the death and resurrection of Jesus. The church began after the Day of Pentecost when the apostles were empowered by the Holy Spirit to preach the gospel. Paul along with his companions took the gospel first to the Jews and then to the Gentiles. Some of the Jews believed but many did not but many of the Gentiles received the Good News with joy. New churches were started and new believers began to grow in the Christian life. New churches are still continually being founded today. We as the Body of Christ are called to be a vibrant agent for change in our secular society. Christianity operates under the power of the Holy Spirit supernaturally. We walk by faith and not by sight. When we receive Jesus by faith, we begin an immediate personal relationship with God. The Lord gives us courage, boldness, confidence, insight, ability and authority... to serve Him wherever God has placed us. We are called by God by “the Great Commission” in Matt. 28:18-20 to “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you” How are we as the Body of Christ or individually going to accomplish this mission? We cannot do this by not interacting with others. We cannot do this if we stay to ourselves in a “holy huddle”. We cannot do this if we do not read, meditate and understand what we read in the Scriptures…we will confuse or turn off people because we cannot prove what we say when they ask. Christians we have the answers to life issues and problems. That is why God gave us this assignment. People are succumbing to the darkness…lawlessness is here…abortion is legal. Same sex marriage is legal…rebellion against the teachings of Christ is practiced every day. The people in the 1st century needed to hear the Good News and I’m sure someone in our family, your workplace, your school or the community you live in need to hear the Gospel. And since the borders were open; people from every nation, tongue, and race are now living in our neighborhoods; they surely need to hear how important it is to live God’s way and identify not so much with their culture but with God’s covenant people...the Christians; the Body of Christ. If we are to love others, we first must deny our self -life and fall in love with Jesus once again.
With the Love of Christ
