Greetings and blessings to all of you. In this crazy world the church is the only thing that make sense even though it is not a perfect institution. I say that because the people you meet in church are followers of Jesus Christ; and Jesus Christ is The Way- The Truth- and The Life. We know that the church is full of sinful people that is why you and I are among them. “They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” (Mark 2:17) Together, with the Body of Christ we learn about true repentance, complete forgiveness, reconciliation and salvation. Together we learn about Eternal Security, Spiritual Warfare, The Armor of God, the Trinity (God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit) heaven, hell, a true relationship with Christ, and Kingdom Building. Together we learn about topical issues like Choosing Faith over Fear, the Resurrection, the Love of God, Making Sense of Suffering, Prayer, Maturing thru Conflict, etc. Christianity was meant to be a movement to make us a people set apart from the world to be visionaries and missionaries- powerful, and dynamic. Know this… a church that God builds consist of flawed individuals willing to empty themselves of that independent- autonomous attitude wanting to serve ourselves only... as the goal… doing our own thing for our own ends. But God wants to create “the family of God” …an unselfish people serving His people for His Kingdom. The church is to be the light of the world; a city on a hill in a countercultural community piercing the darkness with Truth (a countercultural message) spoken in boldness, love and grace. We are a people set apart to fight in a spiritual war with the flesh, the world and the devil. Sometimes if we are so open minded, don’t spend time in the Word or with other mature believers we cannot think clearly and begin following false teachings. We can be led astray like the church at Galatia in the 1st century that forgot about the teaching of Christ “the just shall live by faith” and instead Paul had to scold them. Paul asked the Galatians in Gal. 3:1-5 “You foolish Galatians who has hypnotized you before whose eyes Jesus Christ was vividly portrayed as crucified? I only want to find out from you did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law or by hearing with faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit are you now being perfected by the flesh?” Begin Loving the Church as God does.
