Greetings and blessings to all of you. God is Love…Love is an action word. God demonstrated His love for us when He made a provision to forgive sin through the atonement of His Son. “In that while we were still sinners Christ died for us” (Rom. 5:8) In Eph. 2:4 it says, “But God who is rich in mercy because of His great love with which He loved us when we were dead in trespasses made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved).” Since love is an action...know this …It was love that prompted God to fashion a creature in His own image and likeness and to place him in a paradise of bliss. It was love that move God to speak the stars into being and to place the sun in the heaven to provide us with heat and light by day. It was love seeing thru the centuries that we were incapable of being what we ought to be without the help of God which promised a Redeemer our Savior who would save us from our sins. It was love that enabled Jesus Christ to become poor that we (through his poverty) might be made rich. And it was love that after every known torture devised by degenerate man had been heaped upon Him, caused Him to lift His voice and pray “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:34) Because of God’s Holiness... sin has to be punished. But God’s love offered a plan of redemption and salvation for us. We just have to receive His love with the pardon He gave us. Then show our appreciation and gratitude by living in the power of the Holy Spirit, dying daily to ourselves ..denying the flesh... that wants to rise up in us; being rebellious.(Rom.7:18) When we live in our flesh and not in the Spirit we feel this separation from our true Love-Christ in us..followed by the Deadly D’s of Satan- delusion, depression, deception. Can we truly love? Sometimes well-meaning Christians say we should focus on “loving people” and forget about doctrines or the teachings and fundamental principles derived from God’s Word which is a Love Letter to us. However, we cannot say we love people{as Christ} would when we affirm things that Jesus clearly considered Sin. If that is the case, we must change the meaning and understanding of Sin, Salvation, Longsuffering, Compassion, Truth, Evil, Love etc. Our greatest mistake is trying to measure the Love of God by our own human standards of love. Recall that True Love is an Action word. Love is always accompanied by Good/Kindness-Grace/Self-Control and Truth.
