Greetings and blessings to all of you. Another attribute of God is …God is Perfect. My conviction has been growing for years that we must recapture the concept of God is Perfect! Got Question.org says, perfect means “without flaw”. God is perfect in every way. He is flawless. In Deut. 32:4 says, “He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is He” The Bible clearly teaches that Christians can never attain perfection in this life. The following verses will help anyone who thinks he can attain perfection if he strides harder and harder. In Proverbs 20:9 it says, “Who Can say I have cleansed my heart; I am pure from my sin?” In James 3:2 it says, “For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body as well.” In Gal 5:17 it says, “For the flesh sets is desire against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh for these are in opposition to one another so that you may not do the things that you please.” Finally, in I John 1:8 it says, “If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us”. What then was God speaking of when He told the disciples in Matthew 5:48 “you are to be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect?” A theologian said, “It does not mean obtaining sinless perfection in this life. Instead, it calls for believers to strive for a growing maturity of godliness and integrity, mirroring God’s character in their thoughts words and actions. This process is fueled by God’s grace and is a lifelong journey of SANCTIFICATION not a destination we reach on our own. It means a continuous process of being set apart from sin and conformed to the image of Christ.” But remember the ultimate aim for meeting such high standards is to bring glory to God and to live in a way that reflects his character…not striving to appear better than someone else to gain popularity and recognition to assuage your self-esteem. That is what Satan did when he challenged God in Isaiah 14:12-15 and in Ezekiel 28:12-18. Even as we grow in holiness we will struggle with sin therefore do not become complacent or self-satisfied with your progress. We are to keep praying, stay humble, keep short accounts of our sin- immediately ask for forgiveness, do a 180, repent and thank God for the Holy Spirit that is in you to help you.do better as you continue to pursue a life of Godly character.

With the Love of Christ
