Greetings and blessings to all of you. Time is speeding by. Big changes are happening in our nation. The old leadership is out the new one is in for the next four years. Look around we are living in incredible times. Isn’t it a privilege and a challenge to be living as a true Christian in such a time as we are experiencing? We have lived through terrifying moments? There was 911 in 2001when over 3000 people died. Then we had numerous hurricanes and floods when more lives were lost. Currently the California inferno is yet to end…the state has not had rain for a while. Homes and lives are gone. We were doing our normal daily activities and never even thought about those disasters happening but in a blink of an eye all was taken from earth into eternity. In James 4:14 the word says, “Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. For you are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.” Most people are still going about their daily activities with never a thought about death or eternity. But we see the signs of the two coming together. As people of God, we must be gentle yet bold in proclaiming what is true. We never know when a catastrophe will take place. As a people of God we know that some will be offended, some will not return to church, some will get very frightened and some will make you appear like a looney. God warned us about “scoffers” and apostates (one who forsakes the truth of the Christian faith but still profess to be a Christian.) Understanding the times is imperative now as it was back in the OT. We are living in the last days. The Gospel has to be shared. The satanic influences in this world will and has led to great deceptions. The unsettling reality of the last days was predicted in the New Testament. Early on the Apostle Paul referred to this time as “this present evil age” in (Gal. 1:4). Paul instructed the church at Corinth that, “the god of this age has blinded unbelievers to Christ’s glorious light of the gospel” in (2 Cor. 4:4). Jesus will be returning as he stated in Acts1:11. “This Jesus who was taken up from you into heaven will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.” And He wants all to get saved. “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
