Greetings and blessings to all of you. These past months has been a huge learning experience for the Born-Again Believers especially in light of the political turmoil. Now it is time to appreciate the new-you. We have learned to count the cost when we found ourselves at odds with the culture and their values. We learned that we must focus on the Words of Christ- taking them seriously so we can be that salt that acts as a preservative until Christ returns. We also learned we must love what God loves because we are at odds with the ways of the fallen world. We experienced in a glaring, almost scary way, that our enemy the devil never sleeps… In I Peter 5:8-9 “Be of sober spirit. Be on the alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour.” For the true followers of Christ, we found ourselves recommitting ourselves to be a disciple of Christ; getting in touch with the Holy Spirit in a deeper meaningful way; opening our eyes to all the lies of the culture/society that permeated even God’s house. Paul knew that the devil will always attempt to destroy churches/The Body of Christ. Apostle Paul said, “After my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; and from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them. Therefore, be alert.” Acts 20:29-31. We as practicing Christians had to learn to live in a secularized culture. Some of us dumb-down rather than speak out against obvious atrocities. In the areas of our cultural, social, political, educational institutions, the church, and the family we cried out to God as in Jer. 20:7-8. “O Lord, you have deceived me and I was deceived. You are stronger than I and you have prevailed. I have become a laughingstock all the day everyone mocks me. For whenever I speak, I cry out- I shout violence and destruction! For the word of the Lord has become for me a reproach and derision all day long.” Even though we are being accused of bigotry, hate, and intolerance for exposing radical agendas, we are still learning to treat this present world as a foreign land; which may seem unnatural to the new believer in this world. We have to continue to walk by faith which will frequently make us discontent. Thank God we have the encouraging Word from Gal.6:9 “Let us not become weary in doing good for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up”.
