Greetings and blessings to all of you. Researcher George Barna (a veteran and a solid Christian) has his eyes on our cultural and the Christians in America. His findings led him to believe that we could be more like Christ in our thinking and in our response to certain situations and circumstances if we have and believe these seven foundational truths in our heart and mind; then we will not be content in ignoring all the bad news taking place in our country and the world. And we will not be willing to stand around waiting for someone else to tell us what to do when in our heart and soul and Spirit we already know what to do. Remember we are called to be the salt and the light …we cannot continue to ignore what is going on in God’s Kingdom. Before Christ returns to right all wrong:
1. We must possess an orthodox biblical understanding of God.
2. All human beings are sinful by nature and choices have moral considerations and consequences.
3. The consequences of sin can only be forgiven and eliminated through faith in Jesus Christ and forgiveness is available only by personal acknowledgement and confession plus repentance and complete reliance on His grace thereafter.
4. The entire Bible is true, reliable, and relevant, making it the best moral guide for every person in all situations.
5. Absolute moral truth exists and those truths are defined by God described in the Bible and are unchanging even when the culture changes.
6. The ultimate purpose of human life to receive His love and serve God with all of one’s heart, mind and strength.
7. Success on earth is best understood as consistent obedience to God in thoughts, words and actions.
Too many “professing Christians” have bought into the convenient lie that God wants only a private inobtrusive relationship with His followers. But think about Daniel who kept praying regardless of the consequences. Recall Peter in Acts5:9 “We must obey God rather than men.” And let’s don’t forget Esther. “And if I perish, I perish.” Why (if we are a believer in Christ and His Word) need to be told to standup for our faith in God? Even when the Bible tells us in Psalm 107:2 “let the redeemed of the Lord say so…”
