Greetings and blessings to all of you. Google defines apathetic as having or showing little or no emotion; not interested; indifferent or unresponsive. Its first cousin is being self-satisfied or exhibiting a lack of concern, a lack of commitment. In any local church there are people that {it is hard to tell} if they are real or not. Just like the people in the church of Laodicea (Rev. 3:14-22) the Lord said, “because you are lukewarm and neither hot or cold, I will spit you out of my mouth…. Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline… so be zealous and repent.” The church in Ephesus was told by God “but I have this against you that you have abandoned the love you had at first.” They left their first love. What happened to the people of God? Maybe like us something got in the way. In this century it could be sports, a career or a business, raising your family without Godly principles, pleasing an unsaved spouse, chasing the dollar bill which leads to physical exhaustion. Saints, the cultural is laughing at us and more so on Sunday morning. Why? Because they see so- called followers of Christ incapable of influencing the society. They think… hmmmm...they should be different from me. They spent some time in God’s house…. but they are not. Who’s running our nation? It is not the Christians. It is the people who have a commitment in destroying the things of God! Dear Christians, if we in our given professions and in our families would humble ourselves, pray, seek God’s face and turn from our wicked ways and we could influence this culture and make the presence of Christ felt in all society and we could correct the ideologies where wrong is now right and every vestige of God is slowly being erased and replaced by ungodliness. Maybe we should obey Gal. 6:9-10 “and let us not grow weary of doing good for in due season we will reap if we do not give up.” Living in God’s Kingdom require that we make a commitment to the Person, Jesus Christ and not just “a decision.” Like in a marriage ..you first make the decision and a commitment. There are many singles and divorces among us because of a *lack of commitment. If the majority of Christians had made a genuine intelligent unreserved commitment to Jesus Christ, the church houses could not hold the people wanting to attend. Let us decide to commit our lives to Christ and be willing to go to a deeper level of commitment.
With the Love of Christ
