Greetings and blessings to all of you. In Luke 13:24-25 it reads “Someone asked Him, Lord are only a few people going to be saved? He said to them, make every effort to enter through the narrow door because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, Sir open the door for us. But He will answer I do not know you or where you come from.” Some of us have wondered am I really saved? Is so and so saved? You are not alone in asking this question from time to time especially when you are ill. God wants us to have assurance of our salvation. He told us in Titus 3:5 “Not by works of righteousness which we have done but according to his mercy he saved us by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.” He also said in John 10:28-29 “I give them eternal life and they shall never perish no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are One.”
Salvation is not some temporary emotional experience. Salvation is the assurance that our faith rests in the finished work of Christ on the cross. He died for our sins once and for all time. Our response to this truth should be to desire to seek that narrow path and stay on it for the love of Christ; continually submitting to the Holy Spirit in us. However, there are a group of professing believers that want to make the narrow door.. wider; they advance their cause under the banner of love, justice, and equality. Is that You? Do you want to be identified as a PC (Progressive Christian/Politically Correct Christian)? What you will notice about these individuals is this…they will have the Bible in one hand but when they speak or vote they will attempt to be culturally sensitive not acknowledging when God said, “You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world is enmity against God.” or “Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world the love of the Father is not in him.” Their goal is to blend in with the culture rather than stand against it. Ask yourself this…. Do you desire in your heart to get rid of the hard sayings of Christianity and embrace and share a more inclusive understanding of the Word of God? To the PC person they believe if you water down the truth on issues like abortion, same sex marriage, transgenderism, etc. then that will be more palatable to the non believers. They are Deceived. But we read the Scriptures.....and we know THE TRUTH.
