Greetings and blessings to all of you. Are you looking forward to the coming of Christ? All thru out the Word of God the prophets declared that there would be a day when history would reach its climax in the judgement of God and in the return of the Messiah. The Bible indicates that when Christ returns the world will not be looking for him. The Bible says, “as it was in the days of (Noah), so shall it be also in the days of the coming of the Son of Man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.” (Luke 17:26-27) The people back in Noah’s day did not believe that a flood was coming upon the world, but it came destroying the whole earth. They are called scoffers. Are you a scoffer? The Apostle Peter said, “There shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying ‘where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.’ Scoffers are educated; scoffers are regular folk; the similarity is that both love their idols so much so that they rationalize away the clear teachings of Scripture. A lot of followers of Christ do not believe that judgement is coming upon the world. Most do not believe because the fact exist that no one can give a “time” when He will come. That is sad because the Bible says, “But of that day and that hour know -no man; no not the angels which are in heaven neither the Son.. but the Father.” Be on guard, keep awake for you do not know when the time will come. (Mark 13:32) So… the next question is ARE YOU READY TO MEET YOUR MAKER? The Bible teaches that the world is at war with the spiritually minded Christian. Worldliness is an attitude of the soul which looks horizontally upon life. The professing Christian mind is less and less focused on God. Their gaze is manward never Godward. Their thoughts are materialistic- sensual view of life which centers its attention on the gratification of the flesh and its desires; completely blind to the things of the Spirit. In this kind of world God is not just denied…He is forgotten in our busyness of life. The Bible warns us, “ love not the world neither the things that are in the world” and “friendship with the world is enmity with God”. Begin reading, studying, meditating on the Word. Begin fellowshipping with like-minded believers attending church- worshipping Him.
