Greetings and blessings to all of you. What is the next event on God’s prophetic calendar? It’s The Rapture. I Thess. 4:16-17 says, “For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command with the voice of an archangel and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive who are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, so we will always be with the Lord. “Caught up” here literally means “snatch up or take away.” God has to end this age known as the Church Age to usher in “The Great Tribulation”. God does not want His children to participate in this awful time. In 1 Thess. 5:9 it says, “for God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.” God has delivered His people from judgment before. Do you recall Enoch? He was transferred to heaven before the judgment of the flood. The Rapture means that one generation of Christians will never pass-through death’s door. They will be alive on earth one moment; the next moment they will be with Christ in the air…just like Enoch. Lot was taken out of Sodom before Judgment was poured out on Sodom and Gomorrah. Recall Rahab and the spies? They were out of Jericho before judgment fell on that place. So too will the church be secured safely (via the Rapture) before the Great Tribulation comes. In Rev. 3:10 it says, “Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the “hour of trial” that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth.” In I Cor. 15:51-55 it explains how we will enter into heaven via the Rapture. That which is temporal cannot enter into the eternal. In this passage Paul says that at the Rapture our bodies will experience a radical transformation…from mortal to immortal (we shall all be changed….in a twinkling of an eye) What type of body did Jesus possess after His resurrection? Think! In Luke 24 Jesus resurrected body was not limited by time and space. He walked through walls and doors. He enjoyed eating. Jesus was recognizable by His disciples. We are told in Titus 2:13 “looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus.” That means we should live with the expectation that at any moment the Rapture could occur. We should live with the reality that any time those trumpets could sound. R U Rapture Ready?
