Greetings and blessings to all of you. Election time is coming again. Have you heard people say, “Christians should not be involved in politics.” How could that be true if we read the accounts of Joseph, Daniel, Nehemiah, Esther, Deborah and we cannot leave out my friend Nebuchadnezzar (King Nebby)? In Kings I and II, Samuel I and II, Chronicles I and II you will find that God is active in politics; setting up this king, judging that king, and getting rid of another king. So, there is not a line drawn with God on one side and politics on the other. There is no escaping God’s political activity. Psalm 22:28 declares, “The kingdom is the Lord’s and He rules over the nations.” In America we get the government we choose. It is our duty to cast a ballot. It is also our privilege. Historically Christians in America applied their faith to virtually every sphere in life including politics. Our founding fathers had a Biblical Worldview. Even though some were not “born again believers they knew the Bible. They knew men were sinful so they divided government into three branches each having certain responsibilities (power). Jesus is not on the ballot but His values are. Too often we Christians are not voting because of these negative attitudes (a)the world is coming to a close why bother (b)there are no perfect candidates so I will not vote at all (c) some say I do not care; God is in control so my vote is not going to make a bit of difference. But what these people are not realizing is that a no vote is a vote and until we get raptured, we have to live here with the government /laws we chose…by voting or not voting. Saints, where do we go for answers as a nation when there is chaos in our country? Where do we turn for solutions when we experience moral, social and economic decline at a rate that seems like it could destroy our country? We know only God can help us not the men or women we vote into office; however, we know that we are God’s hands, His feet, His eyes, and we also have the mind of Christ, therefore God wants us to vote for the people who will stand for traditional marriage, for sanctity of life, for religious freedom, for fiscal responsibility, for educational issues for the kids. He wants us to vote for the people who are against transgenderism, the LGBT+ agenda, and restrictions on the right to bear arms. It been said, “the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” So go and vote your Christian values ..it will count.
