Greetings and blessings to all of you. Resurrection Sunday has not passed. We who are followers of Christ has risen. Let me explain. As Christ was denounced as a political menace and finally crucified, so his church has been crucified (figuratively speaking) by the persecuting rulers. But like her Lord she has risen again. The life of Christ within her renders her indestructible. In Matt. 16:18 it says, “and I tell you on this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Not pestilence, not apostasy (an act of refusing to continue to follow or obey the faith) and not even death. The church is an Organism not merely an organization. An organism is any living thing which develops by inherent life. It is likened to the human body. The human body is one yet it is made up of millions of living cells; in like manner the Body of Christ is made up of millions of born-again souls. As the human body is vitalized by the soul so the Body of Christ is vitalized by the Holy Spirit. In 1 Cor.1:12-13 it says, “For just as the body is one and has many members and all the members of the body, though many, are one body so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body… Jews, Greeks, slaves or, free and all were made to drink one Spirit.” In 1 Peter 2:4 it says, “Coming to Him as to a living stone rejected indeed by men but chosen by God and precious, you also as living stones are being built up as a spiritual house a holy priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” Christ left this earth more than nineteen hundred years ago, however, He is still here doing His work through us. …His Body. His presence is manifested through the church. If Christ is to be known to the world it must be through those who bear His name and share His life. At the conclusion of the Gospels, we do not write THE END but rather TO BE CONTINUED because the life of Christ continues to be expressed through His disciples. The duty of encouraging one another can be found in the gathering of the saints so we can “consider one another in order to stir up love and good works not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together as is the manner of some but exhorting one another and so much more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24
