Greetings and blessings to all of you. This is Resurrection Sunday. In John 19:17-18 the Bible reads, “Carrying his own cross, he went out to the place of the Skull (Golgotha in Aramaic). Here they crucified him, and with him two others one on each side and Jesus in the middle)." The Passover began as an instrument of deliverance for Gods’ people of the OT the children of Israel. Nine plagues have been afflicted upon the Egyptians in an attempt to convince them to let Israel go. The tenth plague was to kill the first born. That night the Lord inflicted this upon the Egyptians; God saw the blood sprinkled on the door posts of those who had obeyed His instructions. God passed over them and that house was safe from the plague. So, we are only saved from the penalty of our sins by being covered by the blood of Jesus Christ and that comes solely by accepting Him as our Savior. Have you placed your faith and trust in Christ? Are you trusting in only Him alone..not your job, your mate, your health, your comforts? Jesus carried His own cross for you and me. The Resurrection is fully explained in 1 Cor. 15. After reading this we are to remember and walk in what we know that is true. “That Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures that he was buried…that he was raised on the third day and that he appeared to Peter and then to the twelve. After that he appeared to more than 500 hundred of the brothers at the same time most of who are still living though some have fallen asleep. And if Christ has not been raised our preaching is useless and so is your faith. And if Christ has not been raised… your faith is futile you are still in your sins. Then those who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life…. we have hope in Christ… we are to be pitied more than all men. Do you believe when you die that’s it? I do hope you have a KNOW SO faith and not a HOPE SO faith. Because as it has been said in 1 Cor. 15 the entire Christian message would be a lie. The verse that is quoted a lot is John 3:14-16 the end of it says “BUT WILL HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE” Once we pass from here, we will have favor and fellowship with God forever. The ATONEMENT is just one of our fundamental truths (or Doctrines) of our Christian faith. Death is just our beginning..Hallelujah!
