Greetings and blessings to all of you. Have you after a period of time in your Christian walk experienced a “spiritual setback” or a “moral fall” of some kind? We start off so strong then we suffer a “faith” failure. Why is that? One of the reasons is that we have drifted away from the very principles we learned at our beginning with our relationship with Christ. Another one is we take the Word of God for granted; we no longer take the truth of God’s Word to heart as diligently and eagerly as we did at first. But the true reason is we have a tendency to forgot about the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit was given to believers when Christ left this earth to be with the Father. Jesus told the disciples, “I have spoken these things to you while I am still with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you. (John14:25-26) We cannot please the Father if we do not have the Holy Spirit as our reality. Christ is still our Helper and our Advocate but He does that from heaven where He is now sitting at the right hand of the Father. The Holy Spirit does His work right here on earth. The Holy Spirit silences the earthly adversaries of the Church through the victory of faith which overcomes the world. Christ not only sends the Spirit but also manifests Himself by means of the Spirit; He is omnipresent by the Spirit. During Christ earthly life He was external to men; by the Spirit He can dwell in the very depths of our souls. It is the Holy Spirit who guides us, convicts us and counsels us reminding us of the Truth of God’s Word and teach us how to apply His Word(discernment). The inner man has to be strengthened by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has His assignment to work in us to conform us to the image of Christ Jesus. We have power to overcome this “city of Man” if only we will make the Holy Spirit our reality. Why Not? You are saved? He now dwells in you. You have something similar to an atomic bomb in you. Ignite it! Christ said, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.” The Holy Spirit want us to experience and live daily in the power of the Holy Spirit. “But I say, walk by the Spirit and you shall by no means fulfill the lust of the flesh.” Gal. 5:16
