LET'S RETHINK CHRIST..MAS!Greetings and blessings to all of you. It is time to slow down a little so we can enjoy Christmas and rediscover its meaning. Let us begin with Worship. Worship involves being still and know that He is God. It includes exulting in the wonder of who he is and expressing that in praise and prayer. Next would be Boundaries; meaning scaling back on all the externals such as spending money you don’t have and declining certain invitations so you can spend quiet times reflecting on the true meaning of Christmas. Finally, know that the most important thing this season is to seek that deep spiritual connection to Jesus. Rediscover the simplicity of His love and bow down in thankfulness and worship reflecting on Jesus’ mission… “ for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10). Think about the message of Christ… “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends” (John 15:13) Because we are not going to let the world dictate our focus this Christmas, we will consider all that Christ has done for us thus far. Like Peter when he said in (John 6:68) “Lord to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life”. Can it get any better than that? The birth of our Savior is the perfect gift! Theologically speaking saints, we need to wrap our minds around the human side of Jesus and His Deity. In the Scriptures some shepherds were going about their ordinary work when an angel appeared with a life changing message, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” In Phil 2:6-8 it speaks of Jesus Christ was… in very nature God. And that He was made in human likeness. This is the distinctive truth of the Christian doctrine of the incarnation. Jesus was God when He was born in Bethlehem. Where Jesus humanity is concerned, He was made of flesh and blood and was like us in every respect except for one: He was without sin. And Only Jesus can save us from sin. Saints, let us vow this year to reflect and enjoy on the real meaning of Christmas. Amen.
