Greetings and blessings to all of you. We will be celebrating Memorial Day tomorrow. It is a holiday for honoring and mourning the military personnel who have died in the performance of their military duties while serving in the United States Armed Forces to protect our nation from our enemies. While we are enjoying the day let us focus on America and how God has allowed much mercy and grace to us. We use to sing (with deep feelings) “America, The Beautiful”. One line in the song says, “God shed His Grace on thee…and crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea.” But saints, unless your head is in the sand, you and I know that America is in serious trouble. We cannot adequately thank the Lord for the work our forefathers and the military did to establish this nation on Christian principles and with protection for the freedom to worship God. However, we need to be distressed over the direction our nation is going and the reaction or response the people of God have taken thus far. This last election should have humbled us realizing that only God can save us from the trends that have already evoked God’s judgement on America. To name some: family breakdowns, immigration crisis, to racial divide, redefining of marriage, abortion on demand, propaganda in the educational system teaching ungodly principles, rising taxes to pay into a system that divides then conquer then control (Socialism). And last but not least living under the constant threat of doing away with religious freedom. It has been said, “there are only two explanations before us as we witness what is happening to our beloved nation. Either we are on a verge of the completion of God’s calendar that will usher in the return of Christ to judge the earth and set up His earthly kingdom, or we are enduring the passive wrath of God whereby He allows a person or a society to experience the consequences of their rejection of Him. The more people marginalize the true God of the Bible the more chaotic things become.” Saints, we have a responsibility to the next generation and for us today. We are to STAND FOR CHRIST. In 2nd Cor. 2:14-16, God wants us to manifest the fragrance of Christianity in and on our culture. We are the aroma to those who are perishing. We are not secret agents. We are ambassadors of Christ. It is our time to SHINE IN THE DARKNESS.
