Greetings and blessings to all of you. This is the month of LOVE. God is the creator of LOVE. He told us what true LOVE look like. Let us look at First Cor. Chap. 13 commonly known as the LOVE Chapter. Saints, would you be able to pass the LOVE test? Try this. Replace your name with the “I”. For example, “if (I) James could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but did not love others; (I) James would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.” And beginning with verse 13 ask yourself questions following the statement given by the Word. Are you patient? Are you kind? Are you jealous, boastful, proud or rude? Keep going…It will be convicting. Did you pass? If we do not have God’s kind of love, we miss the very point of living. God’s love acts unselfish, and always looking out for the other person’s best interest. Love is untouched by fickle feelings, fear of what others think, or self-centeredness. The word says, “do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.” (Phil 2:3-4)You and I know that without the Holy Spirit actively working in our lives we would not be able to do this. Jesus speaks of “loving one’s neighbor as the second most important commandment.” How can we do this? Think. Jesus gave his life for us. Did we forget the bigger impact this should have on us? That is to possess and demonstrate AGAPE LOVE in our interactions with others. In I John 4:7-9 God said, “Dear friends, let us love one another for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a CHILD OF GOD and KNOWS GOD. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love- not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.” Love is the very DNA of every child of God. When we become Christians, His Spirit abides insides and is shown on the outside. When God’s love flows in and through us, we become more like His Son. And when others observe us, they will be drawn to the Savior, because God’s love never fails. Love is like mortar; it holds relationships together. Paul said, “Christ’s love compels us.” Saints, let us begin to see the world through the eyes of Christ...so we can love like Christ.
