Greetings and blessings to all of you. As a Christian born in a Christian nation do you sometimes feel like the world is spinning out of control? Violence is surging in America’s cities, police are under assault, a war is going on with the Christian military members and their religious liberty, there is a definite moral decline in the cities and for a period of time there has been a movement to systematically destroy the Judeo-Christian foundation of our country, In 1962 no more praying in schools; in 1973 legalized abortion appeared; in the 80s and 90s the Ten Commandments monuments were torn down out of courthouses and schools, and currently we are being told not to attend church until the government decides when we should. Our Religious freedom has been slowly drifting away from us. I wonder if a lot of us are like Obadiah in the Book of First King Chapter 18? He was a follower of the Lord. He was in charge of the palace where King Ahab and the priests worshipped an idol called Baal. He did not let the King know it because he was afraid of what would happen to him. Are we like that? A closet Christian. Will God have to ask us the same thing he asked all the people of Israel? God asked, “How much longer will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God follow Him; but if Baal is God, then follow him” The people response… “but the people were completely silent.” WHY did they remain silent? One of Satan’s grandest deceptions is that we can rest our hope for cultural morality and godly living in politicians and government officials. Daniel was not like Obadiah. He stood openly for the principals of Christ; for that the government threw him in the lion’s den for his clear stand on who he was serving. But God saved Him. God closed the mouths of the lions. Elijah fought the government in the Name of the Lord and who stepped in to help him…God. Taking God into the public arena in order to expose false gods requires moral courage and spiritual confidence. Saints we are in a time where we must demonstrate godly boldness. Our government cannot save us ……..only God can! So, what will you do in such perilous times? It is not a time to stay silent.
