Greetings and blessings to all of you. For the last two weeks I have been thinking about (us) the Body of Christ. Guess what? I still am. Why? Because here in the West we have become immunized or inoculated against the deeper things of God, living our Christian lives on a superficial plain of churchiness and religiosity. This type of Christianity will not do. God has poured out a profound blessing on this region. However it appears that we have neglected it and taken his kindness for weak sentimentality and not true repentance. God will remove His lampstand from our midst along with His glory if we do not do a 2nd Chronicles 7:14-15 “And my people who are called by my name humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their ways, then I will hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land.” “Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayer from this place.” Have you looked at Europe lately? For the Christians it could be very discouraging. It has been said that western Europe has now entered a post-Christian era where only a tiny fraction of the populace attends church regularly. The beautiful churches that once were every where in Europe have now become museums. It appears that our Christian faith is on the wane in America just like Europe; the Body of Christ in other regions overseas has enjoyed an explosive growth in the last forty years. What is causing the West to become lazy with respect to the study of Scripture? Why the emphasis on sensationalism and powerful leaders who some blindly follow because of their Mega-Churches and the fact they have a “large following”? Why do so many desire to follow the “Heath and Wealth” gospel placing material prosperity over discipleship? Where in America is the openness to the Gospel and the hunger and thirst for Bible teaching and fellowship? I am saddened to hear that the Body of Christ in other countries are literally dying to be able to worship and serve Christ with Biblical principles. In the West we are too comfortable doing what we want to do as long as we are not asked to “get out of the boat” and go forth and make disciples of the people who you want to be in heaven with you. Christ is coming again. So, I strongly say to the BOC in the US please pray for our nation and the persecuted churches which are located overseas.
