Greetings and blessings to all of you. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” Today is Mother’s Day. It is a day set aside by the US to celebrate moms and her unique role granted by God. Mothers have a job description like no other. God gives life at the point of conception but the mom gives birth. From there mom has a special bonding with that child that the father cannot give. Not negating the father, in this day and age the mother is usually with the children most of the time. She is responsible for raising another responsible God-fearing human being. Her priority, even if she is working outside the home, should be spent modeling and teaching her faith in her God. The Great I AM. We are a distracted people so a mom has to teach and show her children that the technology age has not taken the place of a personal relationship with Christ. The world the flesh and the devil are against the mom who follows Christ with a vengeance. It begins with the family, if Satan can upset the family, he can also upset a city, state, the nation then the world. A mom is the glue that holds the family together. But she cannot do this without being faithful to her Maker. She has to be a woman of prayer; she has to recognize when only a fast will be required to help her children. A mom should be able to present to the people around her that Jesus is real and Joy is possible for those who live for him. Her favorite verse should be “For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain”. A mom has to show what ONENESS looks like to the children similar to when God calls for the Body of Christ to present to the culture a ONENESS; a solidarity in the (church) family structure. The mom not only has to deal with the children she has to deal with the father in a Christlike manner. There is power in a tight knit group(family). Satan loves division. He is most destructive in a family that is torn….one foot in the world and the other in the church life. When people are living out Isaiah 5:20 “woe unto them that call evil good and good evil that put darkness for light and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter”; a mom has to say softly, but clear and firm to her family (like Joshua) said, “As for me and my house we will serve the Lord.”
