Greetings and blessings to all of you. For the last 2 months the COVID virus has been in the news as well as the upcoming election. For the practicing Christian we adhere to Psalm 46 “God is our refuge and our strength a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear though the earth be removed and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea….”. There is a book written by JB Phillips called "You God is too Small." In it he expressed how some of us (even Christians) act as though their circumstances are too complicated for God to fix or unravel. Sometimes (and be honest) you might say like the Israelites in (Isa 40:27), “My way is hidden from the Lord, and my claim is ignored by my God?” Are you feeling like God seems to be dismissing you? Are you feeling sad because you think your prayers are ignored or disregarded? You may feel that God is treating you unjust, unfair, and unloving. Is Your God Too Small? This question must be dealt with. Because UNBELIEF is a withering sickness that ultimately destroys FAITH. I contend that if you are serving a small God you are operating in UNBELIEF. The remedy for this malady is “to learn to wait on the Lord”. Isa. 40:31 says, “they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength.” In the story (Luke 9:14-29) a father’s son was vexed by a demon. The father was so frustrated and perplexed because the disciples could not help his son. This father was tired and did not know what to do…but he did know to turn to Jesus. He said, “I do believe.. help me in my unbelief”. Some of you can relate to that father’s heart. You believe everything about Jesus and you attempt to follow Him as much as your flesh/spirit allows…then Bam!. When an incident takes place there goes the little faith that you did have and you say to Jesus. Help me in my Unbelief. How? I will tell you. During this time learn to make God a definite reality for you. Begin taking a long hard look at who God is: His character, His Being, His Word, His Promises, His Commitment to us. Start spending long hours with Him in prayers and music. Read His Word. Begin to fully appreciate His Power, Glory, His Great Love. Make God Your All in ALL.
