Greetings and blessings to all of you. MERRY CHRISTMAS to you all. We sing our favorite Christmas song each year Immanuel because the Bible says, “therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14. This prophet told of the mighty God which was going to be born into human life. “for unto us a child is borne unto us a son is given.” Isaiah 9:6 That child was the Son of God who came and was incarnated in human flesh in the womb of Mary. During our final days of the Advent season, we focus on Jesus Christ. Why? Because He is “the Alpha and the Omega. The Beginning and the End”. Because He is the one Zachariah spoke of in Luke 1:68 “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel for He has visited and redeemed His people and raised up a horn of salvation for us.” Jesus Christ is our gift from God. The wise men knew that He was “the one” when they came to worship Him. He is “the one” Christmas is all about. He is the reason for every day of our lives. Christmas is about giving…and God gave us the Greatest Gift…His Son. Why would He do that? Because we needed a Savior to rescue us from hell and give us eternal life with Him our Creator. Christ represents Hope, Love, Joy and Peace. When Christ was born the angels announced “Glory to God in the Highest and on Earth… Peace and Goodwill toward men.” Luke 2:14 Saints, before we were saved, we were separated from Christ. Jesus by coming into this world and dying for us gave us the opportunity to be reconciled with Him. How can flawed creatures with all our selfish desires put right the problem of sin? We can’t! It’s impossible! Jesus came to save us from our sins, for all those who place their trust in Him can be put right with God. The arrival of Jesus into the world brought with it His plan to live a perfect life on earth, to show us the way back to God the Father and ultimately die in order to pay the price for our selfishness, pride and disobedience. Christmas is the arrival of real peace on earth. All we have to do is be like the wise men…AND FOLLOW HIM.
