Greetings and blessings to you all. Let’s continue to learn the importance of the Holy Scriptures. David said in Psalm 143:8, “Let me hear of your steadfast love in the morning for in you I put my trust.” Sometimes we try to act as if we are God. We begin to believe we can control our world and what goes on in it. What does God have to allow to happen in our lives BEFORE we begin to totally TRUST IN THE LORD? Reading a Christian article it pointed out that professing Christians are falling for the same old trap that Satan proposed to Eve. Doubt played a key role in Eve believing the serpent’s lies over the truth of God. In Gen. 3:1 the serpent said to Eve, “Indeed has God said, “You shall not eat from any tree of the garden?” Adam and Eve had to make a decision: Would they trust what God said…or would they doubt Him? You know the answer. Look at our nation..it is a mess. So I ask.. we know what happened in the Garden so why are we doing exactly what Eve did?
I ASSERT THAT….
.We are ignorant of what the Bible says. We do not know the Word of God.
.We reject what the Bible says on certain issues such as living a selfless life.
.We are more concerned with what the world thinks of us than of what God thinks of us. Proverbs 29:25 “fear of man will prove to be a snare”
.We make compromises with the world’s way of thinking and lose focus on God’s perspective. We are influenced by the lies of the world.
.We have no commitment for the things God stands for. In Rev. 3:15 “You are neither hot nor cold” was told to the Church of Laodicea. They were self-sufficient and apathetic towards the things of God.
.We look at our situation and do not rely on the promises of God which are in the Bible and we begin to depend on our “finite minds.” Prov. 3:5-6 says, Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your paths.” SAINTS WE NEED TO REPENT!!!
