Greetings and blessings to all of you. We want to be like the men of Issachar. Why? Because in First Chronicles 12:32 it says, “from the tribe of Issachar there were 200 leaders…all these men understood the signs of the times and knew the best course for Israel to take.” Think about that. They knew the signs of the times and how best to live in light of them. To know the signs of the times is knowing what is going on in our culture and the world. It means to know the importance of the events, the trends, and ideologies. It is knowing what/who is influencing us. And WHY is “the new thoughts” necessary. There are some questions and discussions we should be having for instance… Is there a problem with the vaccine? Do you have a concern about the open borders? Racial Disparity? Why is there such an imbalance and incongruities of racial groups? Should we care how people are treated by our government? Is it okay that the government will charge parents with child abuse if you do not affirm the child’s choice of identity be it cat, girl, boy, furry, and whatever else the immature mind can come up with? Why are we celebrating abortion in a huge state like California? Studies shows there are a many Christians in California, but being a Blue state it sanctions the killing of the unborn. What about Hamas and Israel and the Palestinians? In our churches can we voice our thoughts on this issue with well researched incites without becoming divisive? Our social/economics and cultural direction will be and has been affected by this war. Christians need to get more involved in politics…to the extent of cultivating a Biblical Worldview…to influence who will run this country. Jesus came and died and rose again. Not only to save us from our sins and give us eternal life but to teach us how to live in this world and not be of the world. To be that salt and light. To be that change agent with love/grace. To open our mouths so we can make an impact. To influence the challenges, we are facing until we leave here to be with the Lord. Christians like the ‘sons of Issachar’ should be able to have deep discussions of complicated topics without making hasty generalizations, accusations and name calling. If we do not learn to do this, we are not going to be united in ONE purpose as Jesus prayed in John Chapter 17. If Christians would be engaged and outspoken, they can affect social and public policies such as same sex marriages and our trillion dollars debt. Do this with Grace/Truth.
