Greetings and blessings to all of you. The Word of God says, “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” (Ex. 20:3) What does that mean for us in this day and age? Violating that commandment today for us is worshipping me, myself and I, other people, materialistic possessions such as your retirement home to come or your family or your car. In the OT they worshipped golden calves, they worshipped Molech; which included the murder of infants as a pagan sacrifice. They worshipped Dagon who was associated with farming, harvesting, and the anointing of kings. Did you know that God has made us to be worshippers? We will worship a person, place or thing. But God has told us to “worship me only”. Why? Because God cares about what man thinks of Him. What people think of Him determines their eternal fate and how they live. God wants all of us to live with Him eternally. This will not happen… because currently many do not live honoring and worshipping God. Some people are humanist. They believe that man and his knowledge, his science, his technology, determines the destiny of man. Some are evolutionist. They believe that man has evolved to be the ultimate being of this earth, evolved to be the god of this earth. The secularist believe that this physical world is all that exist. Existentialism teaches a belief in whatever works; therefore, truth is entirely personal. It says, “what is true for you may not be true for me.” Relativism says, “believe in something(anything) except the true God of the Bible.” But when God says something; He does not change what He means. Malachi 3:6 declare that God is the same always and never changes. No matter how this world changes around us, we can trust God is consistent. “He is the same yesterday today and forever.” There are many, many people who believe in one god and only in one god. But that god is not the true and living God, not the God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ. Many people especially in the big nations say that the god worshipped by the Moslems, Buddhist, Christians, and others is the same god… That is a lie from the pit of hell. We must acknowledge Jesus Christ alone as the God whom we worship and serve. Jesus made an exclusive claim when He said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6) A lot of us are mistaken about God; so many of us deny, question, and have wrong images of God. To know God read the Word.
