Greetings and blessings to all of you. Scripture teaches us about wisdom. The Word speaks of “the value of wisdom”. In Proverbs 2 it says, “If you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding... yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding; if you seek it like silver and search for it as hidden treasures then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth comes knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity guarding the paths of justice, and watching the way of the Saints.” Scripture gives us examples of the foolishness of man also. The Bible shares stories of three types of fools. Fool #1 denies God. In Psalm 14:1 “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ Those who deny the existence of God are the ultimate fools. After all what could be more foolish than rejecting the God who made you and everything else? Did you know that before Salvation we too were born as “fools?” We were at one point incapable of self-help when it came to knowing God and receiving His salvation…. Without God’s intervening Grace we were doomed to continue to say in our hearts “there is no God.” Our culture is not just saying it in their hearts they are screaming it from the rooftops and encoding it in social policies. The second type of fool can be found ‘in the church’. Hebrews 6:4-6 speaks about that person. This type of fool has been enlightened, has tasted the heavenly gift, has shared the Holy Spirit and tasted the goodness of the word of God. But despite having all of this the professing Christian has chosen to reject Him. Think of the Prodigal Son or the Israelites in the OT who were exposed to many blessings but constantly rebelled, complained then chose other gods to lord over them. Finally, we have the third type of fool. He is the one “who is not rich toward God.” The parable of the rich fool gives us some insight. The rich farmer had his mind on building his kingdom instead of God’s kingdom. God was not pleased. He said, “Fool !!This night your soul is required of you…..”Saints, will God be pleased with you? Will He say, well done good and faithful servant? Let us now - check ourselves…. asking what Kingdom are you building? Is it for you or for God?
