Greetings and blessings to all of you. In Luke 4:18

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”.

Surely there are no people on earth who should be as happy and rejoicing as those who have been redeemed by the precious blood of the Lord Jesus. We were chosen to serve God by the above. That assignment for all of us believers should make us inexpressibly happy. Think about it. We have the Good News. We get to share it with those who are walking in the flesh thereby in deception. Believing the lies of our culture that want to get rid of beliefs pertaining to God so they can be God. For example, one of the myths is believing their identity is in ‘whatever’ they choose instead of male and female. That choice has caused irreversible mutilation of their bodies. Once these same people realize they made a mistake they become mentally distressed compelling them to take medications(drugs) to alleviate their suicidal tendencies. But you and I can set them free because we know the Truth. We are given the assignment of giving sight to the blind so they can walk in their recovery into the fullness of the light; which is Christ not us….we are just the vessel. It is sad to say some Christians are not joyful and grateful. Just like David in Psalm 42:5 we cry to the Lord, “Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me?” But the next verse says, “Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my help and my God.” We all have our moments of despair and darkness But God wants you and I to gain a new perspective on adversity. God wants us to know He brings the best out of the worst; that we are never alone. In order to accomplish our assignment, we must have the will-ability (if we have a crisis of faith.) Andrew Brunson a modern-day Pastor who was imprisoned for two years in the Muslim country of Turkey accused of “aiding extremism”. Which was proven later a lie. He was doing a Luke 4:18 with Bibles and literature. How did he hold up emotionally? Answer. “Out of a sheer act of obedience.”
