Greetings and blessings to all of you. Even though EVERYONE wants to go to heaven…not everyone wants to go to heaven on God’s terms. Most people want to do the following to get to heaven. Eternity is too long not to get it right. If the following convicts you pray that God makes it clear to you to come to Him on His terms and His terms alone.:
Keeping the Ten Commandments… no mortal has ever fully kept His laws and you cannot reach Heaven by trying. The Bible says. “Therefore, by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in His (God’s) sight; for by the law is the knowledge of sin (Romans 3:20)
Giving gifts to Charity; Doing One’s Best; Leading a “good” Life…these are commendable acts but they will never save anyone. The Bible says, “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us” (Titus 3:5)
Good Works, trying to obey the Golden Rule, or Tithing …But God clearly has said, “For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God not of works lest any man should boast (Eph. 2:8,9)
Church membership, Regular church attendance, Prayers and Fasting…these are good things keep doing them but know this those good things cannot justify you and I before a Holy God. The Bible says, “We are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness’s are as filthy rags” (Isaiah 64:6)
Baptism and Communion…. again, these are good. Keep doing them; however, the Bibles alludes to the fact that these are spiritual values only after you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Read Acts 8:12 and 1 Cor. 11.
Being Born into a Christian Family…Billy Graham kids needed to be saved just like their father. John 1:12,13 says, “As many as received Him (Christ) to them gave the right to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name: which were born, not of blood ,nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
The one and only means of spending eternity with God in Heaven is faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone. Trust/Believe and begin responding accordingly.
