Greetings and blessings to all of you. A question was asked “does what we do matter to God?”  The Bible says, “whatever you do… do it all for the glory of God.” Col.3:12-17  Per the Daily Bread I agree that we should ask these questions … How are we doing it, Why are we doing it and Who are we doing it for.  Some of us are in bondage to harsh legalism.  For example, can a Christian go to a football game on Sunday? If we say it is fine to watch a football game on TV, but we should not attend a game on Sunday then we will be caught arguing hairsplitting distinctions.  The question is one of the individual conscience and we must not judge others regarding the matter.  Our Master might permit one of His children to participate and not another. Before your own Master you stand or fall. Should we not be concerned about how Sunday is being devalued because of sports, shopping and traveling? Yes, we should be concerned, for although we worship God each day, Sunday is a special time when we gather with the people of God. But I am not saying to make a rule that fits every Christian… that will border on legalism. That would be opposite of Grace. We should focus on loving God more than sports. And we ought to love God and His people more than shopping, FB, or whatever takes you away from worshipping God. Know this whatever day you choose whether it is Saturday or Sunday make that our Lord’s Day and again whatever we do we must do for the honor and glory of the Lord. Let us begin to make sure we have the right motivation and not be more concerned about judging each other on matters such as these. God has made room for differences in the household of God.  The Bible has said, accept him whose faith is weak without passing judgement on disputable matters. (Rom. 14) There are those in the Body of Christ who feel that to be spiritual one must simply avoid tobacco, alcohol, wine, dancing, movies, etc.  The truth is that avoiding these things is no guarantee for a place in heaven. God’s purpose is for us to grow in the Grace and the admonition of the Lord.  Legalism is an outward performance instead of an inward change. Focus on Grace & Truth.
