Greetings and blessings to you all. I hope all of you read your Bible this past week. Or did you allow “the things of this world” to crowd out your time with your Savior? Well, this is a new day. You have another opportunity to crack open the Word of God. Isn’t God good? Each day is a new day for us to learn more about the God we serve. That is a big deal. Why? Because critics around the world are constantly denying the inspiration and reliability of Scripture. Currently critics want to eliminate teachings from the Word of God such as… Christ’s call to repentance, all the prophecies of the judgement to come, Christ’s affirmations of His Deity and all His miracles that proved who Jesus is. The critics follow “the father of lies” when he told Eve that God was lying to her. Well, they are lying also. Recall…“The god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not.” 2 Cor 4:4 You are so fortunate to be a part of this Body. Our church stands for the “Truth”. We do not rely on man-centered -therapeutic doctrine. We stand on the Word of God. We are not afraid to be “out of sync” with the culture. To be “in sync” with the culture is to diminish the Word of God. That is why The Pillar instructs that it is not only important to read, study and meditate then apply the Word of God, it is just as important to TRUST GOD. In the story about Martha and her brother Lazarus, Martha had to come from faith (believing) in Christ to trusting Christ. Jesus had told her move the stone; but Martha hesitated. Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?” Martha had to move her mustard seed faith to a “great faith”. Martha had to put her faith into action by surrendering all of her hopeful expectations and heartfelt longings and practical common sense and simply TRUST HIM. A trust such as this is a commitment of the heart. Martha showed Jesus how she will trust Him…she moved the stone. Now what stone needs to be moved in your life that is keeping you from seeing the “glory of God”? What is keeping you from moving from believing… to faith ….to TRUST? I know you know. Saints begin praying, engage in the process of “moving the stone” and experience the glory of God.
