Greetings and blessings to you all. I love you enough to share the truth with all of you. The Bible is to be read, and studied, focusing on it teachings and finally applying them to our lives. We must know of the Old Testament as well as the New Testament….the whole Bible. The OT helps us to understand the character and nature of Almighty God so that we can know how to approach Him with reverence and godly fear. (I assert that America and some of us have lost that especially when the Bible and Prayer became contentious to the lawmakers.) When Jesus was questioned by the religious leaders in the Gospels, He went to the OT scriptures showing their authority as God’s Holy Word. If the Lord Jesus Christ believed and obeyed the OT as God’s Word then we had better believe it and obey also. In today’s culture some are trying to discard the OT and focus just on the NT suggesting that by doing so more “young people” may be drawn to the Christian faith. However Jesus wants everyone to know the OT as well the NT. Guess what? Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. Heb.13:8 On the Road to Emmaus Jesus EXPECTED those two men to know what was said in the Pentateuch and Prophets and the Psalms. The Ten Commandments has given us a “moral foundation” for living in this sinful world. They also introduce us to GRACE because we could not keep the “law” which introduces us to CHRIST. In the Sermon on the Mount Christ exemplified “do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.” when He spoke of murder and adultery applying the same standard to murderous thoughts and adulterous desires. Remember we sin daily in Word, Thought (issues of the heart and mind) and Deed. The Bible is a Holy Book; it is the story of salvation and how sinful people can be rightly redeemed to a Holy God. The Bible tell us about life, peace, eternity and Heaven. Once you decide to open this Bible you first must open your minds to the possibility that it can direct your life. Jesus said, “I am the WAY, THE TRUTH, THE LIFE…” Think about that.
