Greetings and blessings to all of you. “Godliness with Contentment is Great Gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain that we carry nothing out. If we have food and clothing, we shall be content with these things, but those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in ruin and destruction. For the love of money is the root of all evil. While coveting money some have strayed from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” (I Tim. 6-10) The right perspective on your circumstances begins with your thoughts. If your mind is focused on Christ, you will be able to give up whatever you are holding on to that is keeping you from practicing Godliness. Ask yourself.... are you holding on to a belief system that you created in your own mind that is keeping you from following Christ with all your mind, heart, and soul? Why are you doing that? Could it be that you have developed a dependency on the money God has blessed you with only by his grace and mercy? Saints if you depend on anything other than God for your contentment you have created another god or idol in your life. And as the verse states you will fall into temptation and a snare and into many foolish and harmful lust. Remember, Satan is the Master of Deception. He could have you believing that you are “content” when you are being “disobedient”. Rationalizing is his tool. Once you begin TRULY TRUSTING GOD, it will be easier to submit to His sovereign will. A mature believer or genuine believer will be contented because the motivation to surrender comes from their love of God.  In Prov.30:7-9 “O God I beg two favors from you before I die: First help me to never tell a lie. Second give me neither poverty nor riches! Give me just enough to satisfy my needs! For if I grow rich, I may become content without God. And if I am too poor, I may steal and thus insult God’s holy name.” In Ecc. 5:10 it says, “he who loves money shall never have enough.”  So, break your ties with money and pursue and trust Christ!  Our only power and success come from God!
